I Feel/Under Pressure
I feel like shakespeare gone wrong
turned inside-out
by scientists and
injected with Cortizone.
I feel like a baby's soft, pink bottom,
cold and never touched
and wondering what skin feels like.
I feel my toes have
fingers, digging into the earth
for nonexistent roots.
I feel my teeth will one day be useless
to chew and my tongue
will no longer have the will to speak.
I feel the train of my thoughts
will gain roaring speed the sooner I shut my mouth
and with that I feel like a shaken
orange cola, bubbling
impatient for a break from the prison-shell,
for a breath to leak through to
blow me into the air,
to spit myself onto the skin
of those that drink me.
