Bigger, Better (A Thing Called Love)

There's something bigger... better... than this thing we called love.
We raped it and used it and caressed it and pimped it and faked it.
We hoped to find it in hidden, dark places. We crept inside and we pulled everything out of the big rucksack of ourselves... poured out our contents for anyone to see.
We were robbed, damaged, misused, underestimated, disrespected.
We were trusting and loyal and hopeful... and then we were bitter and angry and faithless.

We were looking in the wrong place, doing the wrong things with the wrong people, looking for answers in eyes that only questioned and asked and took and would take again and again until we mirrored those eyes and had nothing left to give.

We stumbled onto the streets, drunk on this 'love' and then as we sobered, we'd wandered so far from we forgot the way back.

There's something bigger... better... sacred and magical and deep and ethereal and spiritual and transcending... giving and nurturing and energetic and joyful... and even Divine.

It takes patience. And openness. And trust. And intuition. And sincerity. And it is a new path; one we've never taken before; one that has none of the old tricks or moves or habits.
We can't predict this one. We can't plan it or make it or mold it and force it.

And all that we've glanced in the path we have walked... has been shown to us in the glimmering flicker of light from behind the dark walls of the old city-street. Go on.. to the main road... where there are no walls... no shadows... just blazing, burning, light.
